Hygienist Services

Hygiene services comprise:

  • Screening procedures such as:
    • assessment by oral tissues
    • re-examination of the history of disease
    • oral cancer

  • Inspection of the head and neck

  • Removal of tartar and plaque (soft and hard deposits) from teeth

  • Application of fluoride to the teeth in order to prevent

  • Training of the patient in order to maintain oral hygiene and oral health (eg proper use of brushes, thread as well as nutrition)

  • Counselling on nutrition and its importance to oral health
